Team Ravenclaw tied for 1st place! Ravenclaw decided to focus on the issue of misinformation and disinformation at BMCC by creating an app called Pixel Guard. By analyzing metadata, pixel patterns, and other subtle cues, this app can flag content that may have been artificially generated or tampered with. In turn, users can verify the authenticity of any content, detect subtle alterations, and deep fake technology to protect themselves from misinformation and manipulation!

InclusiTech decided to focus on making education more accessible at BMCC. This team created Lighthouse - a subscription service to aid those who are visually impaired. The service uses AI language modeling to detect words in images and provide a custom audio file depicting what is in the image. The user is able to edit and tailor the voice engine to their preference (language, voice, voice type, audio pitch, & speed of audio file).

Team BMCCWellness wanted to on the Health and Wellness of our BMCC community. Meet CALVIN - a comprehensive support system designed to prioritize the mental and emotional well-being of every individual. CALVIN stands for Compassionate Counseling, Adaptive Assistance, Listening Support, Visual Therapy, Interactive Guidance, and Nurturing. CALVIN provides a confidential space for individuals to express themselves, seek guidance, and receive virtual therapy tailored to their specific needs and concerns.

The EmpathyEngineers wanted to address the challenge students have with accessing health resources. So they decide to create Wellness Oasis - a main health resource hub that is tailored to students preferences. Using AI for real-time updates, Wellness Oasis showcases current health news ans updates, event calander, free resource directory, and local map to show students healthy options around them.

Team Techies concentrated on the food insecurity problem. Their website features an A.I. chatbot that formulates a meal plan that aligns with the user's budget. Relying on AI in this case allows users to find recipes they can save money on without having to price check every single ingredient. The result will estimate the amount of calories the user should consume.

Team Code Runs took on the challenge of Environmental Sustainability. Their project focused on the creation of a predictive/soil analysis AI model that will serve as a tool to solve unsuitable crop selection. The model is trained on parameters such as soil fertility, suitability, soil nutrients, physical properties, and environmental factors. Using this data, the model can provide a cost & profit analysis to offer guidance for the entire cultivation process!
